Only thing bad about '97 is the 'save as' & 'open file' windows R very 'retro' = less flexible than say the default file management interface in Windows XP, but not 2 bad like 'Linux Hell' level oddball 'save as' dialogs or whatever =) But yeah, if your goal is 2 do actual work, like 2 make money, managing accounts & blabla Micro$oft Office '97 is absolutely the best, & free & E Z 2 fint in 'portable' version 2, & BTW: I'm mainly referring 2 the spreadsheet program 'Excel', as 'Word' is infinitely worse than lots of GR8 freeware alternatives, so iGez mostly this is a rant about 'the best spreadsheet program for doing actual work' = Microsoft Office '97 =) No need 2 'go on a journey' navigating 'ribbon' bull$hit hiding functions under additional, un-wanted & un-needed 'sub-menus', & full compatibility forward instead of 'nag' $pam, & retains formatting right & doesn't wreck your formulas, etc. = & since Micro$oft invested in (((Oracle))) or something that makes sense = 2 deliberately $abotage it as a legitimate competitor LOL, kind of like how Fleabay bought 'influence' in Craigslist 2 keep them from offering national & international ads instead of artificially crippling it 2 do 'only local', & endless 'flag & delete' nonsense (even if U pay? =)) & later versions of even Micro$oft'$ own product$ like '365' & whatever else after '97 = even when U save in 'old style' modes 4 (supposedly) E Z opening in older things, it $pams U with constant 'this is not a compatible file' type 'warnings', which R really just 'nag $creens' 2 try 2 annoy people endlessly 2 trick them into saving only in 'latest greatest' (totally unnecessary) 'format' so more people will B 'forced' into 'up'(down)grading 2 a more recent version 4 'compatibility' & bladee bla. HAY PEOPLE! =) 4 N E 1 looking 4 the best 'office suite', it's 'Office 97' from Micro$oft =D Yes, I've tried all the others, including the many 'open source' alternatives & bladee bla, & they all get it wrong on really basic, super-imortant things, like 4 instance the 'Open Office' variants have absurd bull$hit glossy glowing jellybean style bars obscuring text, & don't retain cell highlighting when displaying in 'native windows theme' or 'dark' modes, etc., & they will fuk up some of yor formulas, as they don't 'follow the standards' like they should, etc.
